Stück
This project consists of involving the user in the handmade elaboration of a set of bowls, using ecological materials and providing textiles with a waterproofing and hardness.
Origin
Stück was born after reflecting on the high speed of production in the industrial market and the social consequences that this brings to our society. This system moves faster than our planet and mostly avoids any kind of relationship with the environment. When referring to social science about the relationship we have with nature, Stück shows the possibilities that this environment offers us in a design process and brings us closer to a much more sensitive way. Connecting with nature helps us connect with ourselves and reminds us of our origins and experiences that really teach us to “be” and feel human.
Process
Stück has a natural design process in which the creator is involved in some way in the final result of each piece. In this process a non-toxic material is used that perfectly copies the shape that the creator has made on the fabric as a natural and unique mold of its kind. When the material is dry, the new object is removed with the tissue attached to its surface. It is a very simple production system that uses only the resources we need without using machinery or pollution and discarding the minimum surplus material, such as molds, tools, etc. The result is a group of decorative objects that have this story in their forms.
Philosophy
The project aims to emphasize the importance of the production process for both the final product, which acquires a unique identity as a result of a decision of the nature of the material, and the experience of the manufacturer from the moment of pouring the cement into the fabric until its end use It is a process that allows you to create objects in a very simple way and obtain a variety of shapes, sizes and colors that will always depend on the material and its effects. It is an experience between human beings and natural laws.
